Hi, I’m Laura

and the creator of the sage + the pine

I’m a Bay Area native who moved to Las Vegas in 2014. 

I’ve been knitting since I can remember. It was my grandmother who first taught me how to knit. She used to make me and my sisters sweaters growing up, and we quickly found that knitting scarves and blankets at grandma’s house was one of our favorite pastimes. My mom continued to help me hone my skills and I started knitting caps to donate to the local Ronald McDonald Foundation. A few years after that my sister and I taught ourselves how to crochet, but found that school and friends didn’t always leave us a lot of time to pursue the hobby.

Fast forward 15 years and I decided to get out my knitting needles again! About two years ago I started knitting and crocheting again in order to make gifts for some of my expecting friends. And there you have it, I still consider myself a novice and constantly surprise myself with the things I’m able to make. Hopefully you enjoy my creations as much as I do!
