About the sage + the pine

I started The Sage + The Pine after I found myself making dozens of crocheted stuffed animals in my spare-time and not knowing what to do with them. Only after doing a little research online did I learn that these little critters are known as amigurumi.

Amigurmi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals out of yarn. Amigurmi is made up of two Japanese words.

“ami” meaning crocheted or knitted

“nuigurmi” meaning stuffed doll

It’s brought me so much joy making these cute little animals and has been wonderful learning a little bit more about my culture.
